What Cause Itching In The Eyes After Using Polymyxin B Sulfate Eye Drops?
I m allergic to amoxicillin. I ve been using the eye drops polymyxin B sulfate and trimethoprim since surgery for cataract on Tuesday. Am having more than a little irritation, itching and burning each time I use them which is 4 times a day. Is there any connection with my being allergic to amoxicillin?

Temporary eye redness, itching and stinging is a known side effect of Polymyxin B, especially when used as an eye drop.
You can continue using the eye drops, consult your opthalmologist if the itching is very sever or there is any visual disturbance.
