What Cause Nausea And Vomiting While On Levonorgestrel?

This question is regarding birth control. So I m on the first week of taking my Levongestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol pill by Chateal. Last night at around 12 or 1 a.m I felt sick and throw up. I took my pill at 10:40 p.m. Since I throw up I don t know if I also through up the pill as well. Right now it is about 3 p.m, should I take another pill now and take one again at 10:40 or should I not worry and just continue taking my pill at the same time? Please help.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You had vomiting within 4 hours after taking your tablet so you have to follow the instructions as if you had missed your dose because vomiting can stop the tablet from working.
If you read the patient guide it is written (Take it as soon as you remember. Take the next pill at your regular time. This means you may take 2 pills in 1 day.)
