What Cause Nausea Post Citalopram Withdrawal?

Hi, just currently came of citalopram and about a week. I was on it about a year. For the past few days I have been feeling very nauseated . I have also lost my appetite and no longer eat like before. Can you tell me how long will I be feeling like this? Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM.
Citalporam is an antidepressant SSRI, stopping it might lead to withdrawal symptoms such as nausea because body was dependent on it for a while and once the substance is not there anymore the brain and the body will send signals indicating need for it. This will get better with time. Please refer to your doctor for proper monitoring of your medication and health condition.
Best regards,
Dr. Ahmad
