What Cause Pain In Arms And Feet Along With Heaviness On The Head?
i have been experiencing really bad shooting pains in my arms, legs, hands and feet. I have a heavy feeling in the back of my head and very dizzy (rooms spinning) I have been having these pains for a year but it has become worse the past 3 weeks. I also have crohns disease, and had Ulcerative colitis which i had a full colectomy in 2013. My question is this something i should go to the er for? i wont see a neurologist until july 13th unfortunatly but im not sure what to do. Today has been the worse yet, i get dizzy walking and the pains make me very fatigued
The symptoms described along with associated medical history of inflammatory bowel disease is suggestive of sub-acute combined degeneration of spinal cord. It is caused by vitamin B12 deficiency which damages nerve fibers. The condition requires urgent treatment with intravenous vitamin B12 replacement. I suggest you to visit the ER and not delay the treatment until the specialist appointment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ayesha Shareef, General & Family Physician
