What Cause Pain In The Lower Abdomen While Suffering From A Kidney Stone?

Dear sir am 34 yr male. Am having kidney stone in left kidney measuring 18 mm ..its paining in the lower abdomen and urine is going yellow...i consulted dr,he prescribed crustone tablet and distone tonic..shal i continue it..how long it will take if i continue the tablet to dissolve the stonee

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your stone is quite large I suggest you to go for urine routine and microscopy and urine culture and sensitivity. As some bacteria like proteus may cause kidney stone. Medicines that will help you are. Tablet Cystone 2 tablets twice a day for 15 days and then 1 tablet two times a day
2) Syrup Cital in 1 glass of water at night. Incase of pain tablet Voveran SR as and when required.
3) Drink 4 liters of water per day. In case of infection antibiotic (Ciproflox) for 1 week will help for that do urine tests which I have mentioned above. Repeat USG abdomen and pelvis after 1 month. To cure stone it takes time. After that continue to drink plenty of water and tablet cystone. Other procedures to remove stones are also available like lithotripsy but for now lets hope above mentioned things work for you.
