General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello there.thanks for writing to HCM
I have read your query and history seems a bit vague.
but, rest assured,i will help and advise you the best i can.

A few details like:
your age, sex, occupation, height and weight, medical and drug history, history of fall or trauma etc ,whether it increases with breathing/movement would have been helpful in narrowing down the cause

coming to the query, most probable and common cause of such symptoms seen in clinic is usually gas trouble for which i would advise a pantoprazole tablet twice daily half an hour before meals for 5 days and review you later if you were my patient

in order to rule out other causes like:gallstones, kidney stones, liver cysts etc which also cause a similar pain more on the right side, an ultrasound abdomen would be advised and appropriate treatment would be suggested if any of those are the cause

another common and overlooked cause is injury to the rib cage or muscle sprain over the region and the back and irritable bowel syndrome
you have no other symptoms mentioned

So in short,if i were your treating doctor i would advise the following:
-take 5 to 6 small meals in correct timings and low in fat and oil,cut down salt and sugar.
-take pantoprazole tablet as mentioned above and add ibuprofen if needed maximum twice daily for three days
-examine you and if its a local muscle sprain, advise you rest, local heat applcation along with diclofenac gel
-for further diagnoses,to do an ultrasound abdomen to see if liver or kidney or gallbladder cysts or stones are there.

i hope i have clarified and hope it helps.followup if you need further advise.good day
