I am a women in my early 60s, no health issues. I do take metropolol and amiolopidine for BP.. Wjen i taking a walk, at about a mile, i get a pain in my upper back between the shoulder blade and spine on the left side. It Can get quite intense, and if i stop and rest a couple minute it lightens up, but quickly returns when i start back up. My destination is about a mile and 1/4, so if i rest before i start back home, it will not Show up until i am almost home. Oh, i also have some reflux i control with prilosec.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I share your concern
This could be due to cervical spondylitis or calcium and Vitamin D deficiency

I would advise you for an X ray cervical spine and calcium and vitamin D assessment

Another possibility may be due to poor heart function caused by long standing High BP, so consult your cardiologist for an echocardiography
and ejection fraction

In my opinion you should take calcium and vitamin D supplements
maintain good posture and gait while walking
Hope this answers your question
