What Cause Recurring Red Vertical Line On Forehead?

Hello my friend is a 40 year old male, not in great health, has no medical insurance or Internet so I m trying to help him with a health scare. He gets a recurring red vertical line on forehead. It s becoming more frequent. He has a history of heart disease in which he lost his father and sister. He has been on methadone maintenance for years which frightens me because I know it masks a lot of his health problems. Can you help ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your friend seem to be related to seborrheic dermatitis. I suggest using antihistamines such as Cetirizine to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using Hydrocortisone cream for local application.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
