My son is 3 years old. He is 37lbs and 40ish inches tall. He came to me this morning saying his pee pee hurt. I check him and the tip of his penis (the foreskin for he is not circumcised) is swollen (kind of puffy like a puffy lip) and slightly red. He urniates just fine although he said it hurts, but he still has a good stream and pees normal amounts. He has recently been potty trained and has also started "playing" with himself more. He grabs the foreskin and pulls it sideways a lot and retracts it because he is "looking for more pee." I am wondering if he has just irritated it or if it is something to concern myself with. His penis is not hot to the touch and he doesn't have a fever.
it can be balanitis. infection of the glans penis. it usually gets infected to due continuous rubbing with infected hands as in children. needs urgent management with antibiotics, in case, not controlled, pediatric urologist to be consulted for circumcision surgery which is a very simple surgery.
