General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The scabbing usually occurs due to some bacterial infection of skin and can be sorted out with the help of an oral antibiotic course along with local application of antibiotic ointment. Please continue to keep the area moisturized. If the condition is not improving then I would recommend you to visit a dermatologist and get other more serious causes ruled out.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
