What Cause Tingling Sensation On The Body In Thyroid Patients?
Hello doctor I am experiencing a buzzing tingling sort of sensation on my body which usually starts in the evening and is gone when I wake up. I am on thyroid medication - Thyroxine tablets 100 micrograms. I have been on this medication for a number of years as one of my thyroid glands died! Thank you Dilys Delvin
Warm Welcome. I appreciate your trust in HCM and assure you are on best portal on the globe for expert online medical services.
Based on what you said, you probably have vitamin B12 deficiency. Some hypothyroid patients on treatment have shown these symptoms.
It is recommended that you consult your treating physician about this. If I were your treating physician, I would advise some tests first including vitamin b12, folate, ferritin and blood count.
If it turns out to be B12 deficiency, multivitamin pills and mecobal may be prescribed to you. If they are normal, you may be prescribed clonazepam which helps in improving your symptoms.
Hope I addressed all the concerns you have. Let me know if you have further questions. I will be more than happy to clear any doubts. Keep a follow up to see how you doing.
Regards! Dr. Ali Raza
