Hi,

Our blood pressure is controlled by different factors, both inside our body and out. Several external factors which may cause spikes in blood pressure may include caffeine-containing beverage intake, any vigorous activity, smoking, eating salty food, as well as any stressful condition. A change in lifestyle will help prevent these spikes, on top of compliance with maintenance medications.

I suggest frequent follow-ups with your doctor too, for dosage adjustment of your medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Daryl Derick B. Dizon, General & Family Physician
