Friend had severe sickness, diarrhea & stomach pain possible diagnosis of colitis. However, although slowly recovering he had hearing loss in left ear which has not improved. No answers have been given as to what this could be or how to treat it. Any suggestions?
Noted your history about your friend suffering from sickness, diarrhea and pain in abdomen and developed hearing loss in left ear. The possible causes are as under: Built up of fluid into the middle ear. Dehydration can cause less blood supply to the hearing apparatus. Impacted wax and so on. This is possible to be diagnosed by the following ways. ENT Endoscopy and examination by an ENT Surgeon to get the cause. Investigations of Audiometry, tests of blood and whichever as advised to get a proper diagnosis which is the basis of proper management. Also get the proper diagnosis and management of abdominal symptoms. Proper hydration should be maintained by adequate fluids and electrolyte solutions.
