Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For a few weeks, I've been pretty dehydrated. Suffering from anxiety, I failed to drink water, had a mild sore throat building, coughing at night, acid reflux because of weight gain. Just started taking Buspar today and my stomach is a little weak. I ate something with vinegar in it and it made me sick, I vomited pretty forcefully and at the end, spat a little bit of red blood. Now I'm completely freaking out...what could this mean?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Whatever the symptoms you have or you discussed it here, the main reason for them is anxiety and wrong thinking. Weight gain cannot cause the acid reflux but anxiety is the main cause.
So try to come out of the stress, if you will not drink water, then obviously it will cause the dehydration. If you take antispasmodic medicine (Buspar), then it may cause the dryness of mouth.
I would suggest tablet Omeprazole once in a day and start drinking water. I would also advise you to see the psychiatrist for counseling.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain
