What Causes Baker S Cyst On The Knees Along With Low Grade Fever?

Hi, I have a dear friend who has had knee replacement surgery many years ago. She has now been diagnoised with a Baker cyst behing one knee. Is this possible with artifical knee? It has put her down for now 3 weeks and is confined to a lift chair and potty chair. She has been to ER 3 times and orthopedic doctor once who gave her shots in front of knee. In addition to the cyst?? in back of knee the greater part of her leg stays swellen and warm/hot. She also runs a low grade fever off and on. Could this be something else? Appreciate any help you can give. She will be seeing her primary doctortomorrow, if can get her there! Many thanks.
