Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was treated for sepsis due to UTI and pneumonia (at the same time), 2 months after having open heart surgery. I was not completely healed from the surgery when this event ocurred. I was resuscitated 3 x in the ER. As a result I had to wear a life vest for 3 months. after wearing this vest it was determined I don t need a pacmaker or defibulator. I was just diagnosed with mild to slightly moderate COPD. I am very unsure about using Stiolto Respimat fearing my heart rgythm will be compromised.
COPD has nothing to do with cardiac surgery. Regarding your question of not taking the drugs, you're right they may cause tachycardia, however, they are only needed if you feel short of breath. If you have any symptoms of COPD like shortness of breath then you may not need to take the drugs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
