What Causes Dark Red Blotches On My Ankles?
Was on my feet for 4 hours, wore compression hosiery. When I took hosiery off, had a very dark red blotch on my ankle (swollen). I am 71. I have had these blotches before. Call them Granny bruises cause my 95 yr old Granny always had them on her arms. Am dealing with varicose veins and am seeing a vein clinic in 2 days. Just have never had a blotch so suddenly appear.

I really appreciate your concern and from the history given here I could say that this could be geriatric problem and if the swelling on the Ankles is not hurting then why to worry, in my opinion stop standing too much and keep the leg in elevated position while you sleep, get done the hemoglobin test, have a nice day.
