What Causes H. Pylori Infection Post Bariatric Surgery?
What are the symptoms of h pylori for people post 20 years bariatric surgery? I have been confirmed by biopsy to have h pylori. I had vertical banding gastroplasty about 20 years ago and I thought I had a build up of scar tissue because I am puking after every other meal...
As per my clinical experience, the Helicobacter Pylori is related to bacterial infection in case of chronic gastritis condition. It is the loss of acid producing cells functioning as barrier protection, which is disturbed or broken up in this situation and hence give secondary damage.
My guidelines at present: - Strict dietary measures to prefer bland, vegan diet - Chew food thoroughly - Use small, frequent meals and avoid large meals - Prescription of triple antibiotic, consisting of amoxicillin, clarithromycin, omeprazle for a desired period of time - Avoidance of tobacco in any form is necessary
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
