Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my friends mother is falling and passing out, can walk about 10 yards but she shuffle walks and gets exhausted when she does walk, and we think she is telling tales. She had gastric bypass in November and has lost 70 lbs. I am wondering if she has Lewy Body disease.
I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best possible way. Without the symptoms of dementia the diagnosis of lewy body disease is unlikely. It could be due to electrolyte imbalance, thyroid issues, vitamin B 12 deficiency or any hind brain issues.
I suggest you consult a GP for a diagnostic workup and further management.
