What Causes Metformin Toxicity With Arterial Sclerosis And Enlarged Heart?
My brother was type 2 diabetic. The coroners report stated that he had Metformin toxicity on a background of Arterial Sclerosis and he had a markedly enlarged heart. To sum up I say it was in part death by doctoring with regard to the metformin. I have an enlarged heart. This is my CONCERN. What to do. One obvious answer is top drink less or maybe differently. More exercise?? What sort. I am 76 years of age. My brother died one year ago at 71 years of age after twenty years aaprox of Type 2 medications. Regards, Graham Smith
If you have an enlarged heart the treatment would consist mainly of : (1) reducing any risk factors that would worsen your heart condition. This includes high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, increased weight, smoking. It would be important to control these factors as well as possible
(2)treating any symptoms that occur. There are different medications that can be used to help to reduce the symptoms that may occur.
I hope this helps
