Hi, I am 22/m and my girlfriend is 18/f. My girlfriend and I have recently had a check-up and have come back with Chlamydia - The infection has been around since August. We got treated in November but it didn't clear up properly although it did reduce the symptoms for a while. I went for a check up last week and results came back with Chlamydia and I'm now on Doxycycline. My girlfriend went today, however her doctor said there is a risk of getting PID as the infection has spread almost to her fallopian tubes. How long does it generally take to get PID if left untreated? Her results come back in two weeks but she is very worried and I'm not so sure what to say to her.
