Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is it possible to have apparent TIA after having a couple of aneurisms clipped surgically? I do not know how long ago the surgery occurred. A friend describes a transient dark veil over the vision of her left eye and occasiona l black out of the vision lasting brief minutes. No evidence of retinal detachment or vitreous detachment
Based on the history you have shared, these episodes point towards any underlying neurological deficits and since these are transient and recover spontaneously, but need to be reviewed for any signs of MS with visual evoked potentials as well as MRI for any plaques.
Also if MRI with MRA is done may yield whether any abnormality in blood flow is suspected like in his previous history.
Any aneurysm pressing on surrounding structure may also cause such symptoms. Neurologist review for detailed motor and sensory examination is a must.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
