Hi, I have been incredibly unwell for the last 9 weeks. it came on quite quickly. Initially I lost my sense of taste and had a burning tongue and was extremely tired. I then was so exhausted I slept most of the day for a couple of weeks which is very unusual for me. I have had real difficulty concentrating and felt foggy and drugged with my body heavy and it feels like I am moving slowly through mud. My heart hammers sometimes for up to an hour and I am constantly dizzy. I have cut all sugar and gluten from my diet now for 8 weeks. My taste is back, my mouth stil burns over the day and I am still exhausted. Its the heart palpitations and dizziness that most worry me. Testing showed I had a inflamed liver with iron stores extremely high. ALT was 1,481 (aust lab = 5-30) and i was diagnosed as unknown hepatitis with all types coming bk negative. Recent epstein barr antibodies present. I also have elevated thyroid TPO level at 1176 (australian lab levels say under 60). TSH is rising from 1.94 to 3.33 in 2 months, Free T3 is at 3.6 . Any advice ? have 2 children and finding it very hard to stay up during the day.
You have hypothyroidism which means that your thyroid function is lower than normal. There are several factors instead from viral infections to others. I recommend you to see an endocrinologist specialist for further follow up and treatment
