Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi Doc, good morning i have noticed my nails like last month that i have found my nails ground part like terry nails so if you could please help me how to get cure and let me know how can get ride of this please advice me what to do please my age is 21
I have gone through your health problem carefully and understood your concerns.
It could be great if you could send a photo of your nails so I could evaluate myself the changes there before running into final conclusions.
Anyway, from what you are reporting, if your nails are similar to Terry's nails, it means that the bed of nails is not supplied sufficiency with blood. There are many health problems causing this including: - problems with liver, heart, kidneys (can be excluded through liver/kidney function tests and cardiac check up) - anemia - thyroid problems (can be ruled out by thyroid function tests) - fungal infection if metabolic diseases are ruled out.
As you may see, there are several tests and a good clinical observation needed before determining the right diagnosis. So, I can suggest to consult with your dermatologist and run the suggested tests for appropriate treatment and management.
Hope it was of help. Dr.Albana
