I was seen in the er on9/27 for what I thought was a kidney stone. I do have a history of stones. The CAT scan showed a 4.6 cm mass on my right ovary. I was unable to urinate with out straining. Prior to this episode I had a terrible vaginal odor and was given macrobid and Flaygal. Could thi be a cancerous mass. What is the best way to check for this type cancer? I am still very uncomfortable and having trouble urinating.
The best way to detect ovarian cancer is serum CA 125. Elevated level suggests CA ovary but it is positive in 80% women Ultra sound scan with Colour Doppler will further enhance the specificity In menstruating women endometriosis is a common cause.. Difficulty in urinating is due to a stone in urinary tract and infection.. Ultrasound scan will diagnose it Also you mget yuor urine cultured
