What Causes A HPV Spot On Back Of The Throat While Treating Dry Cough?

I have had a dry cough for two years. A year ago I began to feel like I always had something sticking on the back of my tongue or throat. My dentist noticed what appears to be an HPV spot on back of throat. Doctor says cough is allergy. Throat specialist said she s not concerned about the HPC spot. I am. Could it all be related?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Many times HPV strains of HPV 6 and 11 do present as spot over back of tongue or throat with upper respiratory tract infection signs. I would recommend a viral study of blood sample to evaluate possible antibodies presence in the sample.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
