What Causes A Abdominal Pain With Shooting Pain Into Thighs?

I have pain where the waist line is, only the front. Tender to the touch. I do exrcise 5 times a week, bu doing nothing I have not done for past 30 years. Of course, now, I am 71 soon. Also, have a shooting very sharp pain on the back side of left thigh. No idea if these 2 things are related. Seems not. Thank you for your kind attention!

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

It is necessary to investigate on the possible causes underlying your complaints: possible kidney disease, a strained muscle or sciatica. For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam, an abdominal ultrasound, a urine analysis and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR). If these tests result normal, consulting with a neurologist would be necessary in order to investigate on a possible pinched nerve (sciatica).

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
