Hi, Around the beginning of this month I woke up with a black mark in the corner of my lip. I d thought that it would go away so I didn t worry too much. Fast forward, I woke up to another black mark on my lip out of nowhere. I figured that it came from my lips being dry. But I always moisturize my lips. It s almost a month and it looks the same. This is frustrating me and I m becoming very depressed. Please help me find out what s wrong with me and provide me with some options to fix this. Thank you
As per your query about black mark and dryness of lips can be due to over exposure to sun resulting in melasma or pigmentation of lips. Lip liners or other products may cause darkening of lips due to chemicals in it. Other causes can be anemia or any GIT problems.
I suggest you to consult a general physician or an oral physician for proper examination and evaluation. If its increasing rapidly or any associated bleeding is there you should consult the doctor soon. Avoid very hot tea, coffee or if smoking habit is there.
I hope the information helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Jyoti Pandey
