Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mom is 83 y/o with Dementia. A couple of months ago I noticed a black circle on the back of her heel. I thought it was part of the thick skin that goes periodically on her heals but when I proceeded to clear the dead skin the black discoloration was still there. Would you have any idea what this could be?
Possible causes are like: 1. Malignant melanoma 2. Dry gangrene 3. Horn
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. So get it done colour Doppler or skin biopsy. Please consult with your dermatologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu, Internal Medicine Specialist
