What Causes A Bleeding Sore Beside The Nose?

My daughter is 18 years old and has chronic acne on her face. She recently developed a sore by her nose that is not a pimple. It doesn t hurt, but if she touches it or rubs it, it bleeds a lot. It doesn t have pus of any kind, but appears to be a pocket of blood that will not go away. It has been there about a month.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
The symptom you describe may be caused by dermatological problems like acne(most likely a cystic acne) or skin infection by bacteria or fungi.
I will suggest you see the Dermatologist for evaluation and treatment.Over the counter drugs may not be the best.A dermatologist can help you:Control your lesions, Avoid scarring or other damage to your skin and Make scars less noticeable.
Depending on the cause, your Dermatologist may prescribe topical agents, oral agents including antibiotics or adopt alternative therapy methods that help take care your chronic acne, and the bleeding sore.
Hope this will help
Best regards
