What Causes A Blister And Yellow Fluid Discharge At The Site Of The Colon Surgery?

I recently had abdominal surgery to remove a section of my colon and have a vertical scar next to my belly button. I m all closed up and healed now with quite a scar. About 5 days ago a blister formed at the top of my scar about the size of a dime and has been draining clear yellow fluid that soaks up a 2x2 in about 24 hours. Is this normal for a scar to develop a blister like this? What can I do to help it heal?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Give it some time. If you are feeling well and pass stools, you can just wait it out. If there is a lot of oozing, you could have a few stitches removed to explore further.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
