What Causes A Blister Like Bump Near Genital Area?

A few days ago I randomly noticed a single pimple/blister like bump near my bikini line. I could still wear underwear and it was visible (very very inner thigh closer to the bottom of my vagina) so I was not nervous because it wasn t on my genitals. The blister popped immediately and was painless and I cleaned up the area and let it be. It hasn t bothered me or even been on my mind at all for the past couple of days until today when I picked off a tiny skin color scab type thing. After I picked off the scab It was a little oozy (very tiny bit of clear watery liquid) so I put a band aid over it. Still no itching or pain. I ve done some research and I ve really begun to freak myself out because of the lack of pain/itching. I know herpes tends to come in clusters, but I also read that syphallis sores don t tend to have pain or itching which is scaring me except mine doesn t look like any of the pictures I ve seen online. It s about the size of an eraser head and is kind of dark pink in the middle and gets lighter on the outsides. When I touch it it feels just slightly raised over the rest of my skin. This is also an area I shave with a razor but haven t shaved for a few days and there don t seem to be any hair follicles visible.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Blister like bump in the genital area is commonly because of infection of the hair follicle due to bacteria. Shaving your pubic hair may be the cause of folliculitis, triggers irritation and blister. You can apply ointment Soframycin or Neomycin in the area affected. Do not put any band aid.

Take care of your hygiene, do not touch, scratch or pick. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get STD tests and HPV tests done to stay on the safer side. If the tests come positive , you will be treated with antibiotics and antivirals. If sexually active, avoid sex for a couple of days & wear soft cotton clothes.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
