Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am training for a bike race and have noticed that I have a blister on what appears to be my clitoris. It is very tender to ride on it and I need to know how to treat it since I will be on my bike for 400 miles in one week in about 10 days from now. I have never had this before so I am not sure if it is from rubbing while riding or something more. It does make it painful to ride and painful to urinate
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. Blisters what you have got on the external genitalia appears to be due to friction associated mechanical injury. Kindly do the following to overcome it. 1. Wash the area with cold water and mild antiseptic solution like Povidine-Iodine twice daily. 2. Apply Neomycin with Hydrocortisone cream over the lesion twice daily. 3. Wear loose fitting undergarments to provide proper ventilation and avoid friction in the affected area. 4. Abstain from sexual activities till the lesions heal completely. Gradually, your symptoms should subside and be back to normal. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
