What Causes A Blister On The Lip Of A 6 Year Old Girl?
Hello, My daughter is 6 years old, and she has had a mild rash on her chin for at least the last week. Tonight, in addition to the redness on her chin, I noticed a very small lip ulcer(blister). I would appreciate your help for a possible diagnosis and treatment. Thank you. Shelley
The ulcer on lip and rash on chin is appearing to me like a Staphylococcus infection that is bacterial in nature. You should start cleaning the entire area with antiseptic ointment like Betadine and apply antiseptic ointment like Neosporin, Soframycin over it.. Give her Ibuprofen to reduce soreness and pain as well as inflammation causing redness will also subside. If the infection does not subside with this topical treatment then you need to take her to a Physician and get a prescription of oral antibiotics that will help in resolving infection faster.. Keep the area clean and dry..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
