Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a blood blister on my areola. I am not pregnant nor am I breastfeeding. This is the 3rd time it s showed up in 3 months. The other times I was able to take a hot shower and pop it. It honestly wasn t painful really. It s just irritating because it is continuing to come back and the skin on top of it is dry and peeling. The only thing I can possibly think of is that I have nipple piercing and maybe the friction of them along with my bra is irritating the skin. Is that a possibility and what else could it possibly be?
I cannot say in your particular case, dermatological conditions are hard to discuss without seeing them. Local trauma can cause a long term break in a vein that re heals with a broken, fragile wall. This is fixable in several ways by a dermatologist, or vascular surgeon, probably the latter.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
