What Causes A Bluish Bruise On Leg In A Diabetic Person?
Hi, I m diabetic. I have a blue bruise in my right lower leg, two years ago I slept wrong in a Hospital chair and developed the same kind of bruise on same leg, but it looked purple, I went to my primary doctor, she said it was superficial veins, not sure we re the blue came from

Hi, I understand your concern. In diabetes the skin becomes thinner so a slightest hit on the skin can lead to breaking of superficial veins. The bluish bruise you have must have caused because of such episode. Breakage of superficial veins cause collection of slight blood under skin.. which looks bluish/ purple when there is more blood ) to start with.in the process of healing it starts looking greenish, yellowish & the comes to normal skin color. Usually it does not need much of treatment. A pain ki8ller pill.. in case it's painful & cold compress suffices. Thanks.
