What Causes A Boil On The Hand After Chemotherapy?
My Mother has undergone a surgery of carcinoma of her left ovary and was found with High grade cells.because of which she is been prescribed chemotherapy of 240mgTaxol and 500mg Carboplatin. she has fininshed her second cycle of chemo. today she developed a boil in her hand and has been having frequent urges to pass soft stools after anything she eats. Her body weight has reduced to 46.5 KG . how can I stop this urge to pass stools ?? so that some food stays in her stomache. I also would like to know the reason for the boil on her hand
The repeated frequency for passing out stools (defecation) is the side effects of chemotherapy medication, you need to consult the treatment team for that to get the symptoms reduced.
As the hand boil is concerned it may also be because of skin infection as the white blood cell count falls during the chemotherapy.
You need to put her on a balanced diet with plenty of fluids so that there is no risk of losing weight and also there is no severe dehydration too.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muzaffer Hussain Parray,
