What Causes A Bone Spur On The Base Of The Neck?

I have a hard boney growth at the base of my neck where the joint of the collar bone joins the breast bone. It is not thyroid! My Dr. said he thinks it is arthritis, but my concern is that it seems to be getting bigger and is affecting my voice and makes me cough.

Hi,

Pain killers and physiotherapy are suitable for the problem.
Change in voice is likely to be due to some abnormality in larynx or voice box. I suggest you to consult an ENT specialist for clinical assessment and thus management.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
