Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have a small brown spot on my upper jaw. It is painless and I can't feel any difference on the area of my jaw compared to others. I have had a sore throat and ear on and off for months now. No visible lymph node but I can feel it on the side of my lower neck by my shoulder. I am currently on treatment for acid reflux.... Can acid reflux cause all these symptoms? Should I be worried? I have no history of family cancer in an form.
As per your query you have symptoms of brown spot on the upper jaw with no other symptoms of pain and swelling seems to be due to melasma and postinflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Need not to worry. You should visit oral physician / dermatologist once and get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly. You can go for biopsy of lesion as well to find exact etiology and start treatment accordingly. Avoid exposure to sunlight. I don't think it is related to acid reflux at all. You should take multivitamin tablets rich in Vitamin B12.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
