What Causes A Bump On The Gums And Loose Teeth?

Hi my 5 1/2 year old son has a bump in top front tooth . 2 years ago, he had 2 caps on his front teeth put on. In the summer he fell on his face and they started bleeding. I took him to the dentist the next day, and he was fine they said. Now his 2 front teeth and the one beside it (total 3) are loose. What could it be? fr

Hi..
Welcome to HCM..

So sorry to hear about your problem and will try my level best to resolve it to the best of my knowledge and experience..

As per your complain it seems that a bump over the gums along with three teeth that have become loose along with the front tooth teeth having capping done on them..

Well, loosening of the front teeth at the age of 5 and half years is not abnormal as they tend to shed at an age of 6 to 7 years, therefore loosening at this age is not abnormal..
A bump over the gums can be due to infection leading to abscess formation or else can also be due to bulge created by the permanent teeth which will erupt in a few months after the fall of the milk teeth..

So my suggestion would be to consult a Pedodontist and get him evaluated and an x ray will be sufficient for the diagnosis and treatment planning..

In case if the teeth are mobile just because they are at a stage to fall and the bulge is due to permanent teeth, then no treatment is needed..

In case if there is infection a course of antibiotics and treatment of tooth with root canal treatment if the teeth are left will sufficient roots can be done..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
