Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes A Bumpy Skin Rash On The Neck Along With Fatigue?
I have a 17 year old son with a bumpy skin rash on his hands and neck, nausea and fatigue and loss of appetite. Michael has been taking Lexapro for a little over a month. My daughter 15 has also suffered from nausea and fatigue, loss of appetite, and stomach pain. She spent a week unable to get out of bed or stay awake at all. She improved after a week but has re-lapsed several times with fatigue. Is now on z-pac. Both kids home today with nausea and fatigue.
The fact that both children have nausea, fatigue and lack of appetite indicate that the symptoms may be related to a viral illness. Viral illnesses typically last 1 to 2 weeks.
Nausea can also occur as a complication of Lexapro. Skin changes are not common though persons can react differently to medication.
If there is no improvement or any worsening in their symptoms, it would be best for them to be reassessed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
