Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a laceration to my hand just below my left index finger that required 8 stitches and was 1/4 - 1/2 inch deep. The right side of my finger (from the laceration to the tip) feels like it is asleep so I figure there is some kind of nerve damage there. My finger is also starting to form a callus along the length of it, where it is numb. What could be causing the callus and how urgent is it to see a Dr. The injury and numbness occurred about 9 days ago. The callus formation seems recent. But it could be I m just noticing it

What Causes A Callus On The Finger?
Hello, It could be a hypertrophic scar or keloid. Consult a dermatologist and get evaluated. You can opt for intralesional steroid injection for best results. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
