What Causes A Change In Menstrual Pattern?

The last time I had sex was in March. Since then I ve had 2 very light and short periods, mine have always been on the heavier side even being on birth control pills. I ve taken several hpts and they ve all come back negative. I even went to my obgyn and they did a urine test that was negative. My period is supposed to come next week and the past few days I ve had some lower back pain and slight cramps, today I also noticed I had a slight fever. Could these be pms symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Looking at your description, the symptoms like fever, low back pain and cramps could be suggestive of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
Kindly take an ultrasound scan of the abdomen and consult Gynecologist with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
Regards,
Dr.Ashakiran.S.,
MBBS., MD.
