Hello I have a cluster of bumps on my upper lip and they do not hurt but sometimes I get a tingly feeling. Also sometimes I get a itchy feeling but not on my lip but right below the my nose. This is herpes or do I have something else. Also these bumps only appear on my upper lol but there are some on my bottom but it is very hard to tell. Also the bumps appear skin colored and some are actually a little bit white. Do I have herpes
Hello and welcome to HCM, Herpes infection is characterised by fluid filled vesicles. The herpes labialis type of herpes commonly involves the upper lip. Pain, tingling sensation and swelling are characteristic features of the vesicles caused by herpes labialis infection. The vesicles of herpes are prone to recurrence especially when immune status of body becomes low. I suggest you to consult your primary health provider for clinical assessment and prescription of topical ointment for relief of symptoms.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
