What Causes A Constant Strange Taste In The Mouth And Tongue?
Hi. I have a strange taste in my mouth/tongue. Have tried to elimamte different foods, over the counter medication , estroven. Nothing seems to help. I am female,60 years old , post menopausal. Been having this problem for about 8 months. Thanks for your help.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain strange taste in mouth also known as Dysguesia can occur due to a number of causes like Dry mouth, hormonal imbalances, Zinc deficiency, side effects of medicines, Oral infections, nerve damage, diabetes etc.. Consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and treatment of underlying cause will solve the problem.. As of now you can gargle with a flavored mouthwash aa it will help in making bad taste, chew sugar free chewing gum as it helps in stimulating saliva flow, you can also suck sour candies and lemon drops as it will improve taste as well as improve saliva flow, take Zinc supplements, and antioxidants..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora
