Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am male I had a catheter in for about 12 hours last whilst having an ablation on my heart for AF. Now 8 days later I still continue to have a constant urge to urinate even after emptying my bladder. My doctor checked for an infection on Monday and found the was no infection. Can you offer any advice?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can. If there is no UTI then this may be caused by prostatehyperplasia or urinary stones so you should do ultrasound to rule this out. Also, some neural issue may manifest on this way so your lumbar spine should be checked.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us at any time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health. DR. Ivan Rommstein
