Hello,

It must be macular edema or fluid build up in the centre of the retina. We cannot give laser in the central part of the macula called fovea. However grid laser can be given around it. Injection Avastin can be tried , 3 injections 3-4 weeks apart. Strict control of blood sugar and lipids is very crucial and important for visual recovery. If OCT shows presence of vitreomacular traction, then you may consider vitrectomy surgery. Kindly discuss these with the retina specialist.
