Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a cyst on the inner side of my tragus, left ear. It has been there for several months. It is sore, but may be due to be constantly touching it to see if it the same. It makes it next to impossible to wear ear buds because then it is irritated. What type of Doctor should I see about removal- general surgeon, ENT, dermatologist?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have cyst on inner tragus of left ear. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like cholesteatoma or boil (furuncle) . I would suggest you to apply dry warm compresses on external ear , do not prick or touch the cyst again and again and take ibuprofen or acetaminopehn for pain . Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , examine physically and examine with otoscopy . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics at least for 5 days along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also remove it surgically under local anesthesia .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
