Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, thank you. My son is 11. He has a small scab on his nose. he doesn t know how it got there. It is probably 4 days old. Each day it gets just a little tiny bit bigger. It is probably the circumferance of .3 inches (less than an inch wide). We re concerend, because a year ago his 14 yr old sister had a similar but worse scab that grew on her leg. She thought it was a spider bite. We went to the dr. and they gave us antibiotics saying it was likely a staph infection. what do you think we should do about my son? thanks!! YYYY@YYYY

such skin conditions are best treated if actually seen in a picture. If possible, make a picture of the scab and upload in a follow up. I will get back to you in no time. Without seeing it is difficult to comment on is it a staphylococcal infection or not. But I will still help assist you in the best possible way.
If I was his treating physician, I would have prescribed him with Triple antibiotic ointment to apply on the scab and rest of the treatment depending upon the nature of the lesion.
Hope I answered all of your questions. Please don't forget to add your precious positive feedback to help me able to assist you better in future too. Have a wonderful time ahead. Keep in touch for a follow-up too to let me know if you have any doubts & need further assistance. I am available 24/7 for your help. Have a blessed time ahead.
