What Causes A Facial Rash With Itching On Arms And Head?
I have a facial rash and also itching on my arms and head. I have been to a Dermatologist and today to my regular medical Dr. They do not seen to know what to do. I have been thinking that I am allergic to a new diabetic medicine. I have been on Invokana for over 2 months and this started after I started this med. I know it is hard to diagnose over the internet but would like your opinion.
Hello, If a drug causes any hypersensitivity, then the it is seen usually on whole body. Affection to only face, arms and head is unlikely to happen. It is better to see if there fungal infection in the specified areas. Invokana can increase or cause fungal infection in the genital area, as it excretes more glucose in the urine. Incidence of lower urinary tract infection and fungal infection is observed in some patient. That is one of the reasons why patients are told to clean the are after visiting the toilet. Still if you feel that the rashes are due to INvokana, you may stop the medication for a week or a bit longer, taking an alternate medication to control blood glucose and then observe if the allergy has stopped. Thanks.
